Project Overview

ArcFusion addresses a critical challenge in modern manufacturing: how to make advanced analytics and AI accessible to Tier 1–3 manufacturers and SMEs without the complexity and cost of traditional Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). The project integrated Arcstone’s MES platform with LexaTexer’s precision-AI and agentic-AI stack, enabling real-time anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and automated compliance reporting (e.g., RoHS, REACH).

By connecting directly to MES data streams, ArcFusion validates anomaly signals, forecasts equipment failures, and automates evidence extraction for auditing. The result is a scalable, user-friendly system that empowers non-technical users to deploy sophisticated shopfloor analytics—reducing downtime, improving product quality, and strengthening competitiveness for manufacturers globally.

Methods and approaches

Precision-AI + Agentic-AI integrated with MES

ArcFusion combines precision AI (high-accuracy analytics) with agentic AI (workflow automation and autonomous decision routines).
The system performs:

  • real-time anomaly detection,
  • predictive maintenance forecasting,
  • automated compliance analytics.

This hybrid AI design ensures both reliability and operational autonomy.

No-code orchestration + plug-and-play APIs

The team built NoCode APIs and MES plug-and-play connectors, enabling seamless integration between the AI platform and shopfloor systems.
Manufacturers can configure workflows (e.g., anomaly detection pipelines) without writing code, dramatically improving accessibility for SMEs and non-experts.

Key Achievements

Real-time MES–AI integration enabling continuous anomaly detection and maintenance predictions.

Unified no-code environment allowing users to connect assets, define analytics, and automate tasks visually.

API ecosystem for bidirectional communication between Arcstone MES and LexaTexer AI.

Agentic-AI capabilities enabling autonomous action routines based on analytics outcomes.

Advanced data management layer with geo-redundant storage, performance and security validation.

Open-source collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with T-Systems to align deployment and integration standards.

New jobs created: 3 roles directly attributable to the programme.

Impact & Results

Scientific Impact

ArcFusion demonstrates how precision AI, agentic AI, and MES data can be combined into a unified architecture capable of real-time, interpretable industrial analytics.
It advances research on automated document extraction, on-premise AI execution, and interoperable data pipelines.

Economic Impact

The platform reduces downtime, boosts efficiency, and enhances output quality—critical factors for SME competitiveness. It also opens doors for new commercial opportunities, EU–US market expansion, and future industrial partnerships.

Societal & Industrial Impact

ArcFusion democratizes access to AI for non-technical manufacturing staff, enabling safer, more reliable operations and lowering barriers to Industry 4.0 adoption. It fosters sustainable production by reducing waste and optimizing maintenance cycles.

EU–US Collaboration

Collaboration between LexaTexer and Arcstone was strong throughout the experiment, including API design, joint integration testing, and roadmap co-development. Additional US partners also entered negotiations for future scaling.

Publications and Open-Source Contributions

  • Integration demonstration screenshots (no-code workflows, MES connectors, LLM chat assistance).
  • API documentation & YAML schemas for backend connectivity.
  • Anomaly detection demos and natural-language MES query interface.
  • LinkedIn dissemination post.
  • MoU with T-Systems for open-source alignment and deployment cooperation.

Future directions

  • Further development of AI agents for advanced reporting and compliance automation.
  • Continued US partnership alignment and expanded collaboration with additional American industry partners.
  • Scaling the system for deployment in regulated manufacturing sectors (e.g., automotive, pharmaceuticals).
  • Commercialisation toward a global federated shopfloor-AI platform.
